Happy Chinese New Year! Or rather yet, happy *belated* CNY. 
I had the outline done since the beginning of Feb, but CGing just took forever. 
I think the picture, from sketch to finish, took around 30+ hours...hehe, that's probably counting the numberous breaks i took in between, lazy/hungry bum that i am! XD~!
All the ideas i got from this picture are stuff from old Hong Kong movies n' stuff...the big brown thing in the front is supposed to be some kind of musical instrument. What kind? Dont' ask me! XD~! *i'm not even sure if i got it rite..heh heh heh!*

Love the picture, and here's a few things:
I'm not sure if you're going for a Japanese girl in a Chinese cheongsam, or a traditional Chinese girl... the first would make more sense, as Madame Butterfly is an opera based off of a Japanese woman.
The instrument is a great touch--it could be a Chinese pipa, but looks more like a Japanese koto...
if you would like to know more, let me know--asian studies is my major... ^_^
P.S. I don't want to come off as rude, and even reading what I've just written, makes me feel guilty. I really do love your picture!!! It's great, and I feel bad telling you this stuff....
